I finally got my Maverick three weeks ago after I ordered it last July when the Ford was taking orders for the 2024 Maverick. I have the 2.0L Ecoboost engine and I have heard that the oil should be changed every 5,000 miles or so because of having the turbo instead of relying on the oil life monitor and was wondering if it is true that if should get the oil changed every 5,000 miles or so?

The normal oci is 7500 miles. Adjust as typical for severe usage - lots of idling, dusty conditions, high temps, etc. Use top quality oil - I always recommend full synthetic, Motorcraft is very good oil, there are numerous others.

My son does 5k changes in his focus st (same motor) and he uses royal purple. He has never had any issues and the army sends him all over the east coast and central northern states, from the bottom of texas.

He says the only thing he wants to get over his st is a maverick. I took him test driving and now he is hooked, ha ha ha
