    ‘23 build dates

One of the guys at work who ordered a Maverick (during the 15 minutes or so the order banks were open) just got his build date and VIN. He’s scheduled for the first week of February. Anyone else have a build date yet?

    Dealer markups .

Seeing as how most independent shops are in the $130-140 an hour range, that’s not hard to believe.

I did the math as if I leased a new vehicle every 3 years. Based off the down payment and monthly payment. If I put $3600 down on a 36 month lease, that equates to the same as another $100 a month on a lease payment. So my $3600 down / $402 a month would be equal to $502 a month. Obviously the...

I just went with his numbers for sake of comparison. I would never lease something more than 3 year/36k miles. After that you run the risk of having to do tires, brakes, or other maintenance… that would defeat the purpose of a lease.

    $377 x 12 months x 16 years = $72,384 $7k x 6 down payments = $42,000 Total $114,384 That’s not even an apples to apples comparison. The only way to see the real numbers is to break the down payment up into month payments. $7000 / 36 months = $194.45 per month $377 + $194.45 = $571.45 actual...

That’s just way too much chrome… you need to do something about the XLT and those lug nuts. That’s nice… I like it.

    Dealer markups .

I’ve got tons of toys, I really don’t need or care to modify my daily driver. I need something to get me to work without any issues. I get called in at strange times for snow storms, sheriff’s tow’s, prosecutor’s impounds, etc. Life has change a little now that I have a county truck I drive to...

Meh… I don’t really worry about money. I’d rather have a new car.

I think leasing has a lot to do with that. I can buy out my lease or lease a new one for around the same payment… but I get a new vehicle, with new tires, brakes, and warranty that I don’t have to worry about replacing.

    Maverick's in the Wild

I see about 5-6 Mavericks a day. I’ve only seen 1 SantaCruz. I don’t even notice new Rangers anymore… there’s at least 4 or 5 of them in the parking lot at work everyday.

    Ford USA email

We’ve ordered a few vehicles from this dealer. I stopped in one day and got a price on the truck. I texted the salesman the next day and told him to order it. No discussion of payments, no deposit, nothing… just the total price before tax, title, tags. They’re not worried about selling the...

    Flat towing

In most states, waivers are more worthless than the sheet of paper they’re printed on.

    Flat towing

They could do it easily, but then it becomes a liability when someone tries to sue for something stupid.

    Visiting from TRS

It’s a mix… We have regular, super, and crew cabs. Everything we get is custom ordered. As a government agency, we put out a spec and companies bid on on it. Not a single vehicle in our fleet of 1700+ Is a standard, off the showroom floor vehicle. Everyone of them is modified to fit our bid spec...

    Flat towing

Some of these regen braking systems are pretty strong and would add a lot of resistance when towed. They would have to adjust the system for less strain on the tow vehicle and a longer, slower charge. It could be done.
