Hi all,

Ford wants to share this new electrical DIY video for Maverick they posted on Ford’s YouTube. People have been really interested in eDIY and this gives them instructions on how to do it.

As a refresher, Maverick has two 12-volt 20-amp prewired sources at the back enabling DIY electrical solutions. While doing customer research during Maverick’s development, the Maverick team saw lots of people hacking into their wiring harness to run things like lighting, air pumps and other electrical accessories. The team wanted to give Maverick customers a better and safer option – and so e-DIY was born.

Gaby Grajales (photo attached above) is the electrical engineer who helped develop standard built-in 12-volt electrical power prewired to an easily removable cover on either side of the back of the bed to support DIY electrical projects.

While Maverick customers still have the option to buy accessories like factory-available box lighting, they can use their creativity to do electrical DIY projects through the 12-volt access points.

Beyond DIY electrical, there are two available 110-volt 400-watt outlets – one in the bed and one in the cabin – that can power phones, laptops, small TVs, a cordless tool battery charger, or a small, corded tool like a jigsaw.

Ford has been pretty innovative over the past couple years. Some cool offerings on the F150... going right after Jeep in the new Bronco line up and bringing back the small truck segment with some nice added functionality.

I know this is a Maverick site... but I have high hopes for what they do with the new Ranger. They have a chance to really knock it out of the park...

New Ranger...ehh....too bloated to be called a Ranger, should have been called an F125 LOL. Maybe they'll option it with the Coyote V8 HAHA!!!

Anyhow, yeah curious as to their plans with the Ranger as well...now that they have this Maverick, maybe they can build the Rangers into a working truck again like they used to be without the 4 door and extended cabs as the only options. The larger the cab the more crap you end up hauling around for no reason other than too lazy to take it out LOL. Although the Maverick would cover most of my daily driver & DIY project duties, my 87 long bed Ranger still gets quite a work out hauling bulky items around, and it gets used as the property UTV as well LOL.

LOL@F125. As much as I am partial to the "Ranger" name I don't like any beyond 2011 and you nailed it with F125.

I'm itching to pull the trigger on a Maverick though, so I go out of my way to avoid dealerships even if it means 3 left turns for a right.
