Like everyone else, I ordered a '23 on September 15th. I ordered an XL Hybrid in Cactus Grey with the only option being the 400 watt inverter. I wanted it basic because I'll add what I want myself. Also, I like the XL's interior far better than the XLT or Lariat.
Scheduled build was Dec 5th, 22. Delivered Dec 31st, 22.
The hardest part was the 2 weeks it sat at a rail yard in Las Vegas 100 miles from me.
I took it straight home and with 12.1 miles on the odometer I tore it apart to lower it with Eibach coils.
Three hours later I drove it out of the shop and parked it next to my '22 EcoBoost.
Ran a few errands the next morning, stopped in one of my favorite places to take pics of hot rods.
A few other random pics...
The wheels you see are 19" from a Ford Escape. I had them sandblasted and powder coated. The center caps weren't perfect so I jumped on ebay to find new caps. While searching I found many options, ST, Bronco, Mustang... RS!?
First, I hate "upbadging." Your V6 Challenger/Charger isn't a Hellcat.
That said, for retired the RS nomenclature in 2018 so there will likely never be an RS version. Since the ST product line is still a possibility for the Maverick I didn't want to go that route. RS: Real Slow? It's a hybrid, after all.
The caps came and of course I had to modify them to fit the wheels. Nice, subtle OEM looking touch.
Then I found a pair of original RS badges. What better place to put those than on the fender vents. I carefully sanded the XL logo flat, and viola!
I know a few people will hate it which is why my license plate will read DLIDGAS. Don't Like It? Don't Give A Shit.
I replaced the factory speakers with Rockford Fosgate, added a Rockford Fosgate amp and a Rockford Fosgate 10" sub. Box was made by Chris Hilbert in Wisconsin. Literally drops right in, is well built and has 0.7 cubic feet of air. HIGHLY recommended!
Other minor things:
Windows are tinted 25%.
Bak X4s tonneau
Bed Rug
Dee Zee tailgate soft open
Ford Ranger electric tailgate lock (works with Maverick remote)
Homelink rear view mirror
Dumb stuff nobody cares about like floor mats and console organizer
Other stuff I can't remember
Future plans:
Painted bumpers, skirts and handles
Painted grill bar
Lower the front 1/2" more
Custom fog lights
Amplifier for Rockford Fosgate speakers (door and C-pillar)
More random pics
Cactus Grey is hard to get pictures of. I think every photo above looks like a different color. It does have a slight green tint every so often.
The Eibach coils ride excellent. The truck has been great! In a month I've put about 1600 miles on it and have zero complaints.
