Just curious as to why you joined the forum if you dislike it that much ?Personally, the Maverick will seriously need to grow on me. I don’t find it attractive. It reminds me of the later model Ridgelines, which haven’t grown on me yet and I don’t think ever will.
As long as they keep the FX4 and all the other "off road packages away from this little truck,You can't deny that the Maverick is a cool looking truck. Especially in this Maverick ST rendering. With it being relatively the same size as the previous generations of the Ford Ranger and offering more horsepower and fuel economy, it's going to be a fun truck to drive. Will it revive the Mini Truckin craze?
Yeah, I know. I know they make a killing off of the off road stuff, it just seems redundant to build a small urban commuter to then go and make it a Off-roader. Give me an ST package please.Too late, you can already order it with the FX4 package. You get hd radiator and cooling fan, trailer hitch receiver and 4 pin wiring, skid plates, the FX4 label of course, unique wheels and A/T tires, extra drive modes and hill descent control in the package.
At least they give you something with the package. I wouldn’t necessarily call it really off road oriented but it does harden up the truck to do more work.Yeah, I know. I know they make a killing off of the off road stuff, it just seems redundant to build a small urban commuter to then go and make it a Off-roader. Give me an ST package please.
Performance version? So the turbo charged 4 cylinder plus a supercharger? LOL. 5 squirrel power instead of 3?I really feel like there's going to be a performance version of this truck.
I was talking to a car guy Thursday and when he found out I've been in to Ford Rangers, he started telling me that he had one, and then started talking about how he missed mini truckin. I asked him if he had seen or heard about the Maverick. He had not. I then showed him some pics from this site and he was instantly excited about it.
I think there are a lot of people that haven't heard about the Maverick, and a lot of people that would like to see the return of mini truckin.
I would make it AWD with that 300HP tune @Jim Oaks mentioned in another post. Lowered 2" front 3" back and put some sticky 18"-19" rubbers on the ground. Maybe a ground effects/wide body kit or some type of air diffuser with only two drive modes in the transmission: Normal and SportI wonder though what exactly they would do for a performance version?
Bigger squirrels.Performance version? So the turbo charged 4 cylinder plus a supercharger? LOL. 5 squirrel power instead of 3? ...
